Para poder crear oraciones con el tercer condicional en Inglés, debes de manejar las siguientes estructuras gramaticales:

Tercer Condicional en Inglés usando Could

También podemos hacer oraciones con el tercer condicional en Inglés, usando el modal could en vez de oraciones con Would.

Estos cambios solo afecta la estructura gramatica del resultado como puedes ver a continuación:

• If she’d studied more, she would have passed.
• If she’d studied more, she could have passed.

También podemos hacer oraciones con el tercer condicional pero usando el modal Might en vez de Would

Esto solo afecta la estrucura del resultado y no de la condición:

• If she’d studied more, she might have passed.

Recordatorios y Tips

Si te preguntas como incluyes una oración como “There was” en oraciones con el tercer condicional, se hace de esta manera

• If there had been a sale at the store, I would have gone shopping.
• Si hubiera habido una venta en la tienda, habría ido de compras.

• If there had been a problem, I would have contacted the manager
• Si hubiera habido un problema, habría contactado al gerente.

Si puedes usar “had had” en las oraciones con el tercer condicional, recuerda que el verbo have tiene dos significados “haber” y “tener”, por lo que a pesar de ser la mismo ver, estos tienen dos roles diferentes:

• If I had had more time, I would have finished the project.
• Si hubiera tenido más tiempo, habría terminado el proyecto

• If I had had more money, I would have bought a mansion.
• Si hubiera tenido más dinero, habría comprado una mansión.

Puedes usar “I’d” en vez de “I had” como puedes ver en estas oraciones:
