Reading 


Objective:

Extracting salient points from the whole text.

Pre-reading

Teacher introduces the vocabulary about good and services  and key phrases by using a presentation

During- reading

Task #1: Students read a text about places and the good and services they offer and then they highlight the places and the services they give.

Task #2: Students answer a multiple choice about the places and the good and service they offer

Task #3: Student read the text again and write phrases such as I buy bread on Musmanni or Musmanni is where I buy bread.

 Post- reading

Students see pictures of different places and talk about the good and services they can get there.

Evaluation of Learning Outcomes:

The teacher by means of rubric will evaluate Ss talking about goods and services about where they can get their goods and services during a brief presentation.


Listening


Objective: 

  1. Identifying main points from messages.
  2. Identifying different opinions and choices.

Pre-listening: 

Teacher shows a picture and ask questions to activate their background knowledge and set the context for a recording about opinions of places that offer good  and services

During-listening:

Task #1: Students jot down any word they don’t know as they listen.

Task#2: Students complete the missing words in the text by listening the recording.

Task#3: Using the same recordings and texts , the students are going to unscramble the text in the correct order.

Post-listening:

Students write a paragraph about a favorite place they visit and in which they get their goods or enjoy their services and why the like it.

Evaluation of Learning Outcomes:

The teacher by means of rubric will evaluate students’ list of opinions and choices regarding goods and services in their town by checking their writing.


Writing


Objective: 

  1. Writing sentences and paragraphs to describe a request or complain.

Presentation

Teacher introduces vocabulary to make requests and complaints by using a categorization game

Practice 

Task #1 : Students  unscramble sentences written in pieces of paper to form a letter of complaint and a letter of request

Task#2:  Students highlight the key vocabulary used to make complaints and requests

Task#3: Students complete  a letter of complaint and request  using factual or fictional information

Production

In the production section, students pick a situation from a slips of paper and write a letter of complaint or requests

Evaluation of Learning Outcomes:

The teacher by means of rubric will evaluate students’ ability to make complaints and requests by checking their writing.


Speaking


Objective: 

  1. Talking to offer possibilities and making choices.
  2.  Expressing points of view from information.
  3.  Taking parts in dialogues and conversations.

Presentation

The teacher introduces vocabulary and structures such as You should, why don’t you…? to  tell people where to go if they need a good and service

Practice 

Task#1 Students unscramble sentences in pieces of paper to form a conversation,during the task students ask for clarification of unknown vocabulary.

Task#2 Students read the dialogue and practice the dialogue with a partner taking into account fluency, intonation and correct pronunciation

Task #3 Students completes a similar dialogue but they personalize it with their own information

Production

Students choose three situation from a bag of slips of papers and present a dialogue in which points of views and possibilities are offered.

Evaluation of Learning Outcomes:

The teacher by means of rubric will evaluate students’ ability to talk about points of view and possibilities during a presentation of a dialogue.
