Lesson Plan: Tips for a Job Interview

During this lesson, you will find a series of tasks that will help you learn the vocabulary and structures to prepare yourself for a Job Interview.

A job interview is a formal conversation between a job applicant and a representative of the company, such as a hiring manager or human resources professional. The purpose of the interview is to assess the applicant’s qualifications, skills, experience, and suitability for a particular job position within the organization.

Schema Activation (15 Mins)

Task 1A

Create a sentence by placing the letters in the right position


Pre-Task #1: Good or Bad Recommendations (15 Mins)

Task 2A

Write “bad advice” or “good advice” to categorize the sentences

Instructions

  1. Make pairs
  2. Find advice for the different categories
  3. Use expressions like “I recommend”, “I suggest”, “You should”, “You must” and “You have to”.
  4. Then share your advice based on the craft stick you have.
  5. Every time you share a piece of advice, switch craft sticks.
