Diferencia entre Speak y Talk

Muchos estudiantes se preguntan cuál es la diferencia entre los verbos speak y talk, dos verbos muy comunes en Inglés.

El problema surge porque la traducción de ambos verbos es hablar.

Diferencia entre Speak y Talk

Esta son algunas de las diferencias entre speak y talk:

Speak es un verbo que se enfoca en la persona que esta hablando

• I am going to speak about the importance of saving money
• She is gonna speak about digital marketing
• I was speaking about Crypto
• I spoke about my life in Paris

Talk es un verbo que se enfoca en la persona que esta hablando y al menos un escucha

• I would like to talk to you about my plans
• I am talking to some potential investors
• I was talking to maria
• We were talking about how much we disliked how Game of Thrones ended

Al hablar de idiomas usamos el verbo speak:

• How many languages do you speak?

Need to Speak/Talk to you?

I need to speak to you: Si alguien dice esa frase, la persona no te conoce muy bien y el contexto es formal.

• I would like to speak to you
• I would like to speak to Maria

I need to talk to you: Si alguien te dice esta frase, esa persona es probablemente tu amigo y estan en un contexto informal

• I have to talk about the business
